In the midst, part 2 – Gallery Sanaa (Utrecht, NL)

Gallery SANAA decided to invite artists to send in work they either made during this period of isolation or work they connected to these covid-19 times. To develop the first digital exhibition in 10 years, to connect through art and to give way to the imagination, the creativity – because this can not  be locked down.

In part 2 presents Anna Frydman new aquarelles and introductory self-portraits in the series Verzweiflung, verliebt in die kleinen Unvollkommenden, und eingesperrt. Maarten Dekker’s work is about  touching, making contact and being absent. The iconic red-blue chair of Rietveld and, more specific, the scale model is his point of departure. He tries to find new depth in surrendered surface and to open new space.

Vincent Goes To China, by Ton Kraayeveld, mingles cultures and -isms; modernism, buddhism and maoism. Ton’s inspiration is an orientation journey  to China in 2018, long before Covid-19 spread around the world.

All works will be delivered at home free of charge (in NL) and the Mondriaan Kunstkoop is available.
